Somebody put together an Avengers super trailer using footage from all the trailers so far and few bits from the previous movies. Aside from a couple hitches, it's pretty impressive: [link]

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
Just got in from seeing The Woman in Black myself. It has enough atmosphere for four or five movies! Wonderfully creepy and suspenseful tone, beautifully shot in almost every frame. And Radcliffe has grown up to be quite the good actor.
I made the right choice taking advantage of my one evening off and seeing this one rather than the telekinetic kids movie or Channing Tatum Takes His Shirt Off Yet Again.
Totally. It was such a Hammer Film. I squeed at the logo also, and we tried to make some Harry Potter jokes (like when he's shown coming out of the room under the stairs: "He thought that was the bedroom."). But then we were all just caught up inthe atmosphere.
And of course I want Eel Marsh House, but that may be because then I wouldn't have to duster vacuum.
Joss talking about Cabin in the Woods.
I really want to see Woman in Black. It just sounds like scary fun.
So, Wesley Morris in the Boston Globe REALLY hated This Means War. I'll still probably see it, but I love his last paragraph:
Whatever’s happening with women and romance at the moment is worrying. Rachel McAdams spends “The Vow’’ trapped in a post-adolescent self, with no memory of the woman she was before a car accident. “One for the Money’’ turns Janet Evanovich’s tough, eccentric bounty hunter into Katherine Heigl. Kristen Stewart spent four “Twilight’’ movies pleading for a vampire to make love to her; when he does, she almost dies giving birth to their demon-child. On “30 Rock,’’ Tina Fey’s Liz Lemon is now so pitifully addicted to the approval of Jack Donaghy that she no longer knows what she wants in a relationship. This version of Witherspoon might be the most dismaying of all since she’s not even a woman. She’s a place to plant a flag. It’s hard to see her in this movie, say, enjoying a private dance to Montell Jordan’s “This Is How We Do It’’ while Pine and Hardy secretly watch her from inside her house, and not feel vengeful. This really should mean war.

URGH. That sounds fucking creepy. I'm sad for all three principles involved, who all deserve better projects than what this sounds like -- a pile of crap.
Yeah, if they hadn't included the "Gloria Steinem went to prison so you could date two guys" line, it would be much easier to interpret the whole movie as Brokeback Denial at the CIA.
I'm getting the feeling that this movie would be much improved by Meg Ryan's Addicted to Love character crashing the picture, destroying the lives of the two male leads, and riding off into the sunset with Reese Witherspoon on the back of her motorcycle.
I'd watch that. Even if that is too much bouncy hair for one couple.
I like Matt's movie, too.
