I go online sometimes, but everyone's spelling is really bad. It's... depressing.

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Also, you should come back down here for a visit sometime!

I keep trying to. I remember my 4 years at UNC very, very fondly. Maybe once Hubs's retirement is settled.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

10 things IO9 doesn't think the Hunger Games movies can pull off. Needless to say, incredibly and inherently spoilery.

I think the big one is violence, and the second one is keeping Katniss sympathetic.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Ha ha ha, that list is basically everything.

I was greatly relieved that Buttercup survived the series. Kill who you like, but save the cat .

Saw The Woman In Black. There are like 7 production companies involved, so I'm amused that Hammer gets the logo and the top billing, but it really is a Hammer flick. With a much improved production quality, and no cleavage.

And they got me - I think every "gotcha" moment but one, I had a physical reaction.

Because books.

This weekend is going to be so busy, but I want to see that so much. It's pretty much tailor-made for me.

When the Hammer logo came up on screen, I may have whooped and thrown the horns with both hands. Hypothetically. To the amusement of my friends.

With a much improved production quality, and no cleavage.

It was everything I was hoping for, in terms of production quality. (I am not the target audience for the cleavage.) I need them to make a vampire movie with that production quality. RIGHT NOW.

And they got me - I think every "gotcha" moment but one, I had a physical reaction.

Considering how twitchy/sensitive I am about scares vs. gore, I was amazed that I wasn't jumping at every "gotcha". I think it was because I was too giddy with "OMG IT'S REALLY A HAMMER FILM!" glee.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

Somebody put together an Avengers super trailer using footage from all the trailers so far and few bits from the previous movies. Aside from a couple hitches, it's pretty impressive: [link]

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Just got in from seeing The Woman in Black myself. It has enough atmosphere for four or five movies! Wonderfully creepy and suspenseful tone, beautifully shot in almost every frame. And Radcliffe has grown up to be quite the good actor.

I made the right choice taking advantage of my one evening off and seeing this one rather than the telekinetic kids movie or Channing Tatum Takes His Shirt Off Yet Again.
