The ones I'm thinking of are the ones where a character is flying and one where it's way up in the air. And, well, there are several shots that seem like they're out of a regular movie, just the way they're framed and the way they look. I'll be interested to see how those are "shot." Think I'm going to go see it on Tuesday.

Tivo picked up Alice in Wonderland for me. . . and I've suddenly realized that I haven't actually read the books. So that whole ridiculous proposal scene at the beginning was that in the books? Because I can't imagine anyone ever thinking that was a good idea.
No, sumi. Not in the books. You're talking about the Tim Burton movie, right? That version of Alice in Wonderland is deliberately not faithful to the books, it's supposed to be a sequel or something. Again, beautiful to look at, oh G-d I hated the plot and dialog. Except for the flashback where she woke up from the nightmare and asked her father if she was mad. That was adorable.

It was fun to see Lindsay Duncan after having just seen her in Merlin.
Yes, it was a jabberwocky. Like I said, the movie was beautiful, if filled with a lot of I can't tell if this is Trademark Tim Burton, or if he's tired and ripping himself off visuals. But oh G-d, the story. The dialog. Ugh. And the OMG HORRIBLE DANCE they made the Hatter do at the end. Hate. Haaaaate.
I have the art book. It's very pretty. I borrowed the Blu-Ray from Dad recently to see if maybe I was over-exaggerating how much I disliked the movie. It turns out I wasn't.

In different movie news, I am hoping I can persuade Pete to go see The Woman In Black in the next week. I must go see it.
I'm with Jilli. I really did not like the movie at all. And, I felt that there was not enough Depp (besides the dancing).
I also was kind of angry at the ending of the film. I don't like tacked on feminism.
As you can probably tell, I was heartbrokenly disappointed in the movie. One of my favorite books plus my favorite director? It should have been perfect for me! I honestly felt betrayed by it.
