This board is the only place I frequent online where I've heard anything about the Hunger Games movies, and I have never heard the movies or books mentioned by a single person in meatspace.
I'm pretty sure I'm the only person I know in meatspace over the age of 12 who hasn't read them. Okay, probably my dad hasn't.
I probably would have read them myself by now except that EVERY SINGLE PERSON I KNOW has been gushing over them for so long that I'm resentful of how many hours of my life have been spent listening to people talk about The Hunger Games. No matter if the books are any good or not, they've already taken up more time than I want to give them, so they're not getting read.
My brother's girlfriend was the one who got the books for me for Christmas. But she also teaches fifth grade, and keeps up (happily) with young adult lit, and my other friend reads the book her daughter does (and sons do), so I don't know if that is a good pulse point. Also, I came to the books through fanfiction fusion, so I'm wierd.

I hear you, at least about the upcoming movies. If I never have to hear about the casting of whoever again, it'll be too soon.
Will and I saw Red Tails tonight. I really enjoyed it although there were a few moments of bad acting (though I wouldn't say by the main cast), some characters got totally lost (this, I think, happens in most movies with really large casts), and one sub plot could have been totally cut...well both probably, but one sub plot had lots of David Oyelowo in a sleeveless undershirt so I was happy to have it.
The dog fights were really cool. Although Will was disappointed some of the stuff from the trailer didn't make it into the movie.

Guh.
I've liked him since he was darling innocent Danny in Spooks. Nice to see he's getting so much high-profile work these days.

Wrod! I waited all through Iron Man 2 for him to say "You complete me!" before jumping off the roof.
Is Nolan actually egotistical enough to think that if he kills Bats, he gets to have the last say?
He won't be the first person to kill Batman. I don't see what the problem would be. Or where ego comes into anything.

Right?? Where is the
Iron Man 2: "You Complete Me" Edition
?

I know this just reveals my Abed-like pop-culture memory, but the trailer for What About Bob had a scene of Bill Murray and Richard Dreyfuss standing on the lawn with Dreyfuss' burning house in the background and Bill Murray exclaims "Oh my god, your HOUSE!"
NEVER IN THE MOVIE.
Now I have to go check IMDB to see how old that movie is and, therefore, how freakishly obsessive my memory is (LET IT GO, STEPH).
Oh, man. 1991. LET IT GO STEPH.
Andre Royo's arms are showcased nicely as well. His role isn't huge but he was really good. I'm not sure why but on IMDB his character is listed way down, under characters with no names and very limited dialogue.
