"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

The John Carter trailer made me think terrible things about the movie. Nothing about the movie looked original and I got no clear sense of plot or story.

Anyone have a different reaction to it?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I thought it looked fun but didn't make me remember the book.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

Huh. I didn't know Daniel Day Lewis was playing Abraham Lincoln. Here's a picture of him with the hair and makeup (but sans costume) and boy, that's a good likeness indeed: [link]

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

I first read that as Daniel Dae Kim and was surprised, excited, and perhaps a little baffled by the "good likeness" comment. (But seriously, that would be pretty cool!)

Ok, finally saw the John Carter trailer. I still think Taylor Kitsch is a bit miscast, but the Green Martians look awesome. I wish I remember more of the story: all I really recall is the first bit after he gets there.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

I have a hard time paying attention to the trailer because I love that Peter Gabriel cover so much.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

It was really creepy. And not in a good vampire way.

That pretty much sums up my reaction to Edward.

In discussion of "Snow White and the Huntsman" a lot of discussion of Theron being prettier than Snow White. And I remember that when I was taken to see the Disney version at age 11, I said going out of the theater "You know, I think the Witch Queen would be a lot more interesting to spend time with than Snow White. Only I'd want to do all the cooking."

I know I'm overly pedantic (uh huh), but when they're reciting the skin/snow, lips/blood thing, why in fuck cut to pink-lipped Kristen? I know she's badass battle ninja Snow White, but LIPS RED BLOOD. It's right there in the premise. It would be like the Winchester brothers killing things, but not saving people.

Also, yeah, I don't think she's prettier than Charlize. They don't say she's currently prettier, but that she will be. I hope that's their out.

Shame--Theron and Helmsworth look like they could be an interesting duo. It would be too much work to psychically replace Kristen with Kat Dennings (in an epic sports bra) for the whole thing, so I'll wait until Netflix.

Okay, I know it's prevalent to say "Movie Holmes, whatever! The one true re-interpretation is the BBC version." However, have a look at the second picture down. Can you really beat that Mycroft?
