Buffista Movies 7: Brides for 7 Samurai

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I know I'm overly pedantic (uh huh), but when they're reciting the skin/snow, lips/blood thing, why in fuck cut to pink-lipped Kristen? I know she's badass battle ninja Snow White, but LIPS RED BLOOD. It's right there in the premise. It would be like the Winchester brothers killing things, but not saving people.

Also, yeah, I don't think she's prettier than Charlize. They don't say she's currently prettier, but that she will be. I hope that's their out.

Shame--Theron and Helmsworth look like they could be an interesting duo. It would be too much work to psychically replace Kristen with Kat Dennings (in an epic sports bra) for the whole thing, so I'll wait until Netflix.

Okay, I know it's prevalent to say "Movie Holmes, whatever! The one true re-interpretation is the BBC version." However, have a look at the second picture down. Can you really beat that Mycroft?

Because books.

He was born to play Mycroft.

Is the guy next to him supposed to be Prince Albert? Because if so, he looks perfect.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Can you really beat that Mycroft?

I don't want to chose! (I'm very excited about him as Mycroft, though.)

(But can't I have both?)

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I'm also pleased with their choice for Moriarity.

I checked with fandom, and no. You have to be a plebe or a sophisticate, but you can't be both. Pick a side, stat.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Oh, see, now, that's the problem: you're listening to fandom.

You are totally not checking the same parts of fandom I'm checking. Because the parts I'm checking are all over the idea of

making Frycroft/Markcroft happen.

When they're not trying to figure out how to hook up RDJ Holmes and Freeman Watson, or RDJ Holmes/Cumberholmes. Or any of the above with Jude Law Watson.

Granted, the primary area of the fandom for me is the kinkmeme, but it's kind of the primary area of the fandom as far as fic goes, so.

Oh, and of course, there's the hellyeahallholmes tumblr.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

I checked with fandom, and no.

Pfeh. I likes both. This is probably why fandom and I stopped being BFFs.

(edit: I like Plei's version better. So there.)
