Buffista Movies 7: Brides for 7 Samurai
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
Love Actually is my season-appropriate cinematic soul food.
I'm about to pull out my copy of "The Ref" again. Ironically, it could be about my family, until Leary shows up.
Ben Whishaw cast as "Q" in next Bond movie.
I came out of Breaking Dawn Team Seth, but apparently Seth isn't important enough for anyone to remember. Sadly, he's played by a 15 year old named Boo Boo, so it's like that. Still, distantly, he's very pretty.
Seth was one of the best parts of BD the book. they didn't give him too much screen time in the movie, but the kid is totally adorable.
He has the most adorable frowny face for the first half of his screen time. I just love it.
I just went to look up his character and read up on Leah. Does Stephenie hate women? My lord.
quite possibly.
Wouldn't her writing of the Bella character pretty much prove that?
The Hairpin had an interesting piece on the movie by someone who suggested that Meyer could have been writing a reaction to her Mormon upbringing -- marriage and kids as the focus, but when Bella gets married and pregnant, it comes clear that she has no control anymore, body horror, etc.
I think the writer was ascribing way too much intellect to Meyer myself, but it was an interesting piece anyway.
