We're still working on a plan, but so far it involves being sent to prison and becoming somebody's bitch.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

In which case, we have a whole new premise in this movie. The alternate reality starts at the point where Nero goes back in time.

Where else would it have started?

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

Where else would it have started?

Nowhere. I just said that to keep it clear in my mind...

Brenda, I have to work at the bookstore tomorrow from 10-2, but I'd love to come down and see the movie with you and Tom! If the time interferes with your plans, though, I understand. (I could cover any extra cost if we have to pay non-matinee prices, fyi.)

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I can work with that. What day/time works best for you? (Right there with you on the budget issue.)

Sunday would be best for me, but I can also do Saturday afternoon after 4:00 (give me some time to get downtown from the boonies of the NW 'burbs).

Oh, and if you want to go to the Davis Theatre, I can pick up anyone on the way. (There is parking there, right?)

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

RE this:

(It wasn't just what the Romulans *looked like* that was making the humans on the ship suspicious of Spock - it was the potential of a connection between him and the enemy - wasn't it?)

I'd say moreso in the later episode where he basically seduces the Romulan commander, Kirk acts unstable, and the two of them conspire to pretend that Spock kills Kirk in self-defense, where they are trying to steal the cloking device. In Balance of Terror, the main suspicion is by Ensign Flobotunum who, (a) is on Spock's shitlist, aware of it, and pissed off about it, (b) seems to have a prejudice against Vulcans, possibly only based on (a), and (c) lost family to the Romulans in the prior war (that last point I'm not 100% sure of).

Damn, I'm sure letting my TOS geek flag fly.

It's helping with my angst, though. Geekdom is useful. Cheers :)

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

There is parking there, right?

Sorta. There's a pay lot (near the Brown Line station), or you can search the neighborhood and pro'lly find something within a block or two. Western might work, or maybe Wilson East of Lincoln.

Right there with you on the budget issue.

Frankenbuddha, your (c) is correct.
