Anglo, to me, means really typically British -- creamy skin, fair hair, light eyes. But that's not completely "British," either, since some of those traits came from the Vikings, right?

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
Yeah, I can see that. In Colorado (at least where I was), it was to differentiate from Hispanic.
I haven't read the books, but I have to say that "olive-skinned" to me means of Italian, Greek or Romany descent. Possibly because I am Italian American and have really weird pale olive skin.
Katniss read like nothing but white to me, so I never got the foofurrah. Her full sister is clearly white, so I never gave it a second thought. The casting looks just fine to me. But I don't think of English people as creamy blond either--there were only a handful of blondes in my year at school.
I believe we had a discussion in Literary that Katniss might be intended to have an Indian background, given where District 12 is and that she has gray eyes.
Yeah, actually, before I read the books, I had foofurrahed, but that's just a default for me. After I read the books, Katniss read as completely white to me, so I was okay with the casting.
It is an awfully white cast, but it's Hollywood.
Anyway, yes, Team Finnick! We'll get there, right? Money to be made.

Oh, yeah. If the sparkly vampire movies were made for all the books, I can't imagine all the Hunger Games books not getting made. The only hangup I can see is the violence, and if they can make a lot of stuff happen offscreen (and they're going to HAVE to -- at least the spectacularly horrific shit, like Cato's death -- if they want to keep it PG-13), then they're going to be fine.
Honestly? Whether or not I see them will depend on my mood. Because the trilogy really could have been titled "Everything Is Bad Everywhere And Most People Die Plus DID I MENTION WAR IS BAD." Which doesn't make them bad books, but I don't know if I can handle actually *seeing* them onscreen.
Although Gale sure is pretty, and Rue is entirely adorable. And Foxface is kinda hot.

I do have a fondness for redheads.
I thought they announced at the beginning that it would be a trilogy, which I remember thinking was not a great idea, because there were some laggy parts in Catching Fire, at least in terms of a film.
Aren't they actually making four movies out of the trilogy?
