Buffista Movies 7: Brides for 7 Samurai
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
...but I would be pleased to partake of your pecan pie. PEECAN PIIIIE.
You know, I have a theory that hieroglyphics are just an ancient comic strip about a character named Sphinxy.
When Harry Met Sally is one of those movies that I cannot resist watching every time I flip by it on the TV. Love it! I wish romantic comedies today were more like that.
Yeah, I liked how focused it was. It felt believable and mature.
Romcoms have turned into VOMcoms.
Vomit Comets?
I feel like an idiot, but on RunPee.com, I can't actually find a listing of movies and their pee times. Is there a link that I'm staring right at and just can't see?
t edit Never mind; it does not want to work in Firefox for me, but they came up in Safari. Weird. Perhaps I just need to download the app.
Saw Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2 yesterday. I will need to see it again to gain any real perspective.
But, some stand out moments were everything McGonigal and Nigel Longbottom, Molly Weasley's fire, the Pensive scene and seeing the call backs to the previous movies.
I saw Friends With Benefits last night and liked it way more than I expected. Mile Kunis is totes adorbs and lots of the banter and sexy times are honestly funny. JT isn't quite enough of an actor to carry his role, but he skates by on his charm, of which he has LOTS. It gets formulaic, but still worth a watch if you like that kinda thing.
ION, The Lookout is AWESOME.
I found Friends With Benefits to be more likable and sensible than its döppleganger movie from earlier in the year. I liked the degree of communication they displayed, especially at the start of their shenanigans. And Mila was just so much more sympathetic than Natalie.
Crazy Stupid Love is rather great. Highly recommend. Very good performances all around.
