Buffista Movies 7: Brides for 7 Samurai

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Yay, I'm a llama! Wait...

move out and draw fire

Jaguars. Brutal.

I've only met one person who'd even heard of Brick.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

man it is weird watching Trainspotting for the first time in probably ten years. Diane was Rowena Ravenclaw!

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Trust me, lots of fandom has heard of Brick. We love us some Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

I cannot believe I haven't seen Brick. I need to remedy that.

"already on the kiss-cam with Karl Marx"-

I liked it, but I prefer "The Lookout,"

Hey. New board.

Movies that get a bad rap but are actually just fine to great: Josie and the Pussycats and Ella Enchanted. Love 'em.

Because books.

I haven't seen Brick either, and it's been in queue forever.

I forgot about Emperor's New Groove! I loved that movie.

For underrated movies I like (or movies I think were underrated?), I love Wild Things and Malice. Both twisty with great casts, and one has sort of regular porn, and one has old house porn.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Point of fact: the writer/director of "Brick" did "The Brothers Bloom" which is a movie I liked a lot - but both movies aren't to everybody's taste. I think they can be too quirky for most, but the average buffista/o probably will like it.

The writer/director (Johnson) has also written for "Terriers" and "Breaking Bad."
