I caught her on a park bench, making out with a *chaos* demon! Have you ever seen a chaos demon? They're all slime and antlers.

Buffista Movies 7: Brides for 7 Samurai

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Point of fact: the writer/director of "Brick" did "The Brothers Bloom" which is a movie I liked a lot - but both movies aren't to everybody's taste. I think they can be too quirky for most, but the average buffista/o probably will like it.

The writer/director (Johnson) has also written for "Terriers" and "Breaking Bad."

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

The writer/director (Johnson) has also written for "Terriers"

THAT'S why his name sounded familiar. Kewl.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Yep, I really liked The Brothers Bloom too.

The writer/director (Johnson) has also written for "Terriers" and "Breaking Bad."

He didn't write, only directed.

I'm looking forward to his next movie, Looper, which is about people who send people back in time to be murdered and then, of course, someone (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) is assigned to murder his future self (Bruce Willis).

Compassionately intolerant

I don't know. Part of me wants to because she is all about (spies?) (spys?) more than one spy right now. But then I thinka bout it and it's like, there are plenty of free museums for us to go to without spending $$ on one.

I have to support this 100%. You could spend a month on the Mall alone, and then there is the Children's Museum, the Zoo, the Library of Congress, etc. etc. All more kid friendly and FREE.

I do believe in killing the messenger, you know why? Because it sends a message. ~ Damon Salvatore

didn't love Brick. mostly because of the noir dialogue. The Lookout was fabulous though.

So it turns out When Harry Met Sally... is really good. It's like Woody Allen meets Before Sunrise/Before Sunset.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Emperor's New Groove is awesome, and everyone should love it.

I would have included that, but I thought it made pretty decent money and got really good reviews, IIRC.

For underrated movies I like (or movies I think were underrated?), I love Wild Things and Malice. Both twisty with great casts, and one has sort of regular porn, and one has old house porn.

Love both of those!

Wild Things has great end credits. Also? Bill Murray in a great cameo role.

And Malice has some great lines. Also? Bebe Neuwirth as the local sheriff.

Blended whiskey is CRAP!

What do I want? I want the Red Sox to win a World Series...what do you think I want? I WANT HALF!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Also? Bill Murray in a great cameo role.

He's had some great cameos and small roles. How many lines did he have in Tootsie? Maybe 12? All gold.
