Quick show of hands: does anyone who saw the theatrical trailer for Rise of the Planet of the Apes feel like anything would be added to their experience by actually seeing the full length movie?
Seriously.
After the 3 or 4 different Cowboys vs. Aliens trailers, I think I'm at that point with that movie.
I must be the only person intrigued by the Apes. I love the effects, and would love to see two hours of them,
As for Cowboys and Aliens, my ticket is already purchased.
So, would
Cowboys and Aliens and Apes
be awesome? There could also be battleships.
I think Apes looks pretty great.
Y'all are our scouts. Watch the movies and please report back.
Apparently Hollywood, in its wisdom, has made the decision to reveal as much as possible in the trailer, basicLly making it a mini-movie. They say that people want to know exactly what they are getting.
Or won't be getting, as the case may be. The trailer actually was useful to me, but not in a way that will make any money for the studio.

This reminds me of that gag with Chris Farley and the History channel--what if history was written by ordinary people.
I'm going with sad too. Sigh.
