I don't get the dislike for the movie. I'm interested in it, because (1) no Tobey Maguire; (2) organic webshooters (because, really, is there something WRONG with having a preference for canon? and if so, why?); (3) more Spider-Man, woo!; (4) I'm assuming no horrific, mind-scarring Spidey-dance.
Also, I have no problem with Gwen Stacy.
I'm interested in it because I like the cast and director and also because we'll FINALLY get to see the goddamn Lizard. The trailer didn't blow me away, and the POV shots look silly (but I'll admit they make me want to see the movie in 3D because it will be like
Spider-Man: The Ride
), but I'm cautiously optimistic.
I had a very limited viewpoint of Gwen. Not a dislike for the character, more a misguided attachment to canon. And now that I've done a little more research I feel even worse about what I said. Gah has she been abused.
I didn't see Laga's comment; I was mostly reacting to the idea (whitefonted 'cause this grosses me out something fierce) of
Peter Parker shooting spider silk out of a zit.
Not something I ever need to see, thanks.
Oh. Well, that doesn't happen in the movie, so you're good.
EW cover with Peeta and Gale (Hunger Games).
So the shot at 1:21 isn't in the movie?
trailer
I don't consider that to be
"Peter shooting spider silk out of a zit,"
no. As we have established, he has mechanical web shooters.
P-C,
I must be dense. where is the mechanism on his neck?
Ahh. Kay. So is that pretty much the only organic silk... extrusion?.. we'll be treated to in the feature?
Cause if he's getting the web fluid from his... secretions?.. you can't say the web shooters are purely mechanical. Gadzooks is Spidey a hybrid?!
