Huh. That ought to be interesting. Or horrifying: I can't decide.
They had me early on with the talk about how they filmed the Tharks and did the architectural design, but then came the removal of the telepathy and the title change to appeal to people who don't like science fiction and the not-scantily-clad-ness... I'm growing increasingly dubious.

There's also the question, as Alyssa Rosenberg pointed out today, of Carter's history. In the novel, he's a Confederate veteran.
Speaking of sweet posters.
Duuuuuuude.
Now I'm imagining what it would look like if Nolan switched up and did a full Morrison story for the last movie. Unfiltered insanity, just to mess with people.
I would pay good money for a movie of Batman: Odyssey. IJS.
Netflix is changing their plans starting September. They are separating out streaming and non streaming. [link]
Streaming only will be 7.99
1 DVD out unlimited, no streaming will be 7.99
To get both you'll pay $15.98
They don't have pricing for other plans listed, but I called and 2 dvds out w/blu ray is going up to appx $23/month. I can't remember if she said $22 even or $22.98.
What the fuuuuuck. Dammit. That's really annoying. $6 more a month for what I'm already doing? I wonder if I can alternate months or something, do streaming one month and DVDs another month. Gah.

I'm not even sure Nolan could do justice to the "bloody crunking battle".
The CSR I talked to said their reasoning is that there's been a huge demand for streaming only. BUT there are a also a lot of people who can't do streaming (including not having the internet access to support it) and only wanted dvds only. So this was their plan.
What also sucks about this is that there are tv shows that are streaming, but some of the episodes are dvd only. I've only run into this with older shows, but it's still an issue.

Oh, that blows. Unlimited streaming + 1 DVD out is perfect for us, but not at twice the price.
I guess their plan is to have everyone cancel the DVDs? Must be their plan.
