All right, no one's killing folk today, on account of our very tight schedule.

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

DavidS, have you seen the blog Spy Vibe?

Bookmarked! Thanks, Tom.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

I'm still bummed about Journeyman. I really wanted to see where that was going. I liked Bloodgood in that. Also, San Francisco.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

Just wanted to mention Sita Sings The Blues again: [link] The animation is unbelievable.

Mr. Scola’s wardrobe by Botany 500

It's airing on PBS in NYC on Saturday. I have it scheduled on my DVR.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Review of Watchmen in the New Yorker: [link]

To counter that, here's a tonguebath from CHUD.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Some chick from SiTV said "Ladies, if dinner and a movie includes The Watchmen you might wanna brown bag it."

Her point being that if he wants to go, he'll geek out and it will suck as a date.

How cold! I'm just thinking I need a reread before I head out to see my first movie of 2009. I should be so lucky as going to see it on a date.

I reread last year around the time the first trailer came out, but I'm deliberately not rereading before seeing the movie so I don't spend the whole time comparing them. I want to watch it as a movie.

I reread it last year too, but I'm feeling the need to be totally up on it before my viewing. I hope I can be sensible enough to separate the two, but I want to know when and how they diverge.

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

I'm feeling the need to be totally up on it before my viewing

I don't recommend it, actually.

(And I don't want to ruin anyone's morning, so that's probably the last thing I should say about Watchmen-the-movie.)

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! SO. FUCKING. DISAPPOINTING. FUCKING ZAK FUCKING SNYDER.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I appreciate the white font. My man wants to see this movie so we are going Friday. I bought the tix online already. I have not read the comic, but I have been reading about the movie so I'm pretty sure I know what happens. white font reaction:

I'm prepared to like it as much as I like the worst of the Spiderman movies. If it is better, then hallelujah.
