EW thought Thor was kind of funny and kind of pretty. Or something. Metacritic has a 58 (I still prefer that over rottentomatoes, since it lets medium-positive reviews only be medium-positive) which is worse than Fast Five (67)and almost exactly the same as Iron Man II (57).
I will see both Fast Five and Thor.
Metacritic and EW did convince me not to see Something Borrowed (35, D+), though.
I enjoyed the book well enough, and like romantic comedies when they're actually good. This one could have been good. It apparently isn't.

The trailers seemed predictable enough that I feel little need to actually watch the rest of the movie.

Skimming the thread leads me to believe this refers to Thor. I hope to god it doesn't.
Ha! That would be great. No, we were discussing
Something Borrowed.
Thor looks like it has things that explode good, and pretty Natalie Portman, so I'll see that one.
Natalie Portman bugs me so much...I'm not even sure why. Maybe she came off badly in an interview...or, you know, I totally hate Garden State. But I should hold that against Zach Braff more and I don't(Maybe I pretend it was either that or a film about Giant Doctor, so it looks better by comparison? Although I suspect everyone here would see Dr. Acula.)
Well, since I have that thought every time I see a trailer...thought I'd share. Cause I'm a giver..
I will always and continually forgive Natalie Portman becauase of Leon. Also, I didn't see all the prequels. But I did see her romcom, so I have suffered. But...Leon!
Also, she's breathtaking.
I just avoid the romcoms and the Star Wars movies (I hate those) because she was brilliant in Leon and also I really enjoyed V for Vendetta.
