Also, you can tell it's not gonna have a happy ending when the main guy's all bumpy.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Thor's 3D, an assessment.

TL/DR: Not worth it in 3D.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

TL/DR: Not worth it in 3D.

DH's opinion is not worth it in 2D either.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Some review (which I haven't read yet) said it was surprising to find Thor was the god of sleep.

Most of the reviews I've seen so far have been pretty positive.

eta: IO9 gushes.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

What I've seen has mostly seemed like, "Good enough, if you're looking for this sort of thing."

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

Does IO9 have any speeds other than gush or deplore?

Rottentomatoes.com gives it an 80%. Iron Man II had 74%.

Rottentomatoes.com gives it an 80%.

Sure, but at least one of the "positive" reviews is Ty Burr in the Globe, who gave it 2.5 stars, sure, but a review like this:

For a holding maneuver, “Thor’’ itself turns out to be diverting enough — not close to a sharp-edged romp like “Iron Man’’ but not the B-movie roadshow some of us were expecting. Call it a B+ movie.

But that's how rottentomatoes works. 80% is a good score for them, a good percentage of positive reviews, and they total 158 reviews evaluated (it's been out internationally for a while), so it's not like it hasn't been reviewed.

Not being Iron Man isn't a bad thing--I think that movie took everyone by surprise. Iron Man II was still considered a success, and this is getting better press.
