I've heard comics fans outside the States say the Hemsworth/Portman interactions are very reminiscent of Thor the Mighty Avenger, which makes me far more eager to see it than I was before.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

IO9 does not like Dylan Dog. I am disappoint

See Cemetery Man instead. It's pretty awesome; same comic.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Yeah, Cemetery Man is great.

Oh, and it's Rupert Everett in the lead, so there's that going for it.

Interesting other RE film - B. Monkey, also with Asia Argento and Jared Harris. Definitely worth a look, and the less you know going in the better.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I just watched The Brothers Bloom, the film Rian Johnson did after Brick. I remember that it got pretty mixed reviews, but I really enjoyed it! It's not Brick. It's more lighthearted, a quirky, fun, con-men romp. And it's got Rachel Weisz juggling chainsaws.

Hubby watched Skyline the other night, and he was complaining about the idiocy of the people trying to survive. "The aliens were peering into all the rooms of the apartments, and people kept going higher," he said.

"That's dumb," I said, "that's only letting yourself be herded into a place you can't out of."

He looked so proud of me. And he said, "What would you do if someone was screaming and too scared to try to escape and the group was hanging back to stay with them."

Me: "Let the scared person distract the monsters while we escaped."

He and I play "What to do when the monsters come" fairly often. We both agree we'd be the ones to toss the useless ones off the back of the troika for the wolves to catch.

Skyline was horrible! And not in a so bad, it's good way either.

And I love the convos you have with your hubby, Connie! My boyfriend and I often discuss what we'd do if a zombie apocalypse hits.

I'd probably at least attempt the Moonstruck "Snap out of it!" slap, but if someone insisted on shrieking and otherwise reducing everybody's chances of survival I'd quickly start thinking of the most opportune way to jettison them.
