A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
Dana Stevens over on Slate called Fast Five a fun family movie with Vin as the gruff patriarch. With car-chases and explosions.
oh okay, that sounds like something I'm going to watch when it shows up on TNT or FX in 6 months.
EW gave it a B+, and it's got a 79% on Rotten Tomatoes. By comparison:
The Fast and the Furious - 52%
2 Fast 2 Furious - 36%
The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift - 35%
Fast and Furious - 27%
I'm really excited now! I may try to catch this one in the theaters.
hmm. sounds like Dwayne is what makes this movie golden.
Or the reviewers are grading on a curve....
Dwayne makes any movie golden.
I feel reluctant to test this by watching Tooth Fairy.
You know what? So do I, but I loved The Game Plan in spite of myself so I'll probably like Tooth Fairy too.
IO9 does not like Dylan Dog. I am disappoint.
I still can't look at Thor without think my boy should have been in it instead. Helmsworth can't be that much better, and my guys is prettier. And taller. I hadn't spoken to him in months, but I had to tell him I was sadface about the miscasting. However, Thor's getting great ratings so far. Good good. Maybe three of the four big comic movies can pull it out.
