What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

He was also in Animal Kingdom.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

WTF is up with his career?

I DON'T KNOW! Does he not have a publicist? Why do I not know he's in a movie until I see the movie?

I'm scanning his IMDb bio, and he was in The Road, too! And Bedtime Stories ??

Maybe I am overestimating his star power because I love Memento so much. But he was in L.A. Confidential, too! And then The Count of Monte Cristo and The Time Machine happened, and Hollywood decided he wasn't worth its attention or something.

Karmic payback for that remake of The Time Machine?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

He was just on HBO in Mildred Pierce.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I think Guy can afford to pick and choose whatever whackadoo project catches his fancy.

He was a major Aussie teenaged star for years on television, so he had his bank account squared away a long time before L.A. Confidential.

I'm pretty sure he'll never have to pay for a drink in his life as long as there are gay bars. (Which would probably be true for the next decade even if he'd never been in Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, but still...)

Well, if it's his choice, OK. But if it's people not offering him work...that's just wrong!

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Matt,

ha!

I understand that the actor himself is a little weird and so some key roles haven't gone to him because of his personality traits. I cannot elaborate more because I forgot what I read.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

The only surprise was the Guy Pearce was in it and I had no idea. When did he drop into obscurity?

My reaction exactly! IIRC, he decided he didn't much like the Hollywood life and returned to Australia, which is why he hasn't capitalised on his profile following L.A. Confidential and Memento.

It took me some time to be sure it was him.

He was a major Aussie teenaged star for years on television, so he had his bank account squared away a long time before L.A. Confidential.

True, although bear in mind that he was earning an Australian soapie salary. Neighbours didn't quite offer the same kind of bucks as Melrose Place.
