Random note on race casting and movies-from-books...one of my relations was appalled back in the day when Emma Watson was cast as Hermione. She'd been positive from reading the books that Hermione was black.
I had a very positive reaction to this, until she explained that the reason she'd thought this was that Hermione was described as having bushy hair and prominent teeth.
Sigh.

I throw up a little in my mouth every time I see a commercial for Arthur. You cannot improve upon Dudley Moore. It simply can't be done.

Arthur's a fun movie, but it's not like they're remaking Citizen Kane with talking monkeys. (Which I would totally go see.)
