I am thinking about watching Transporter 2 on FX. I have not seen the first. Will I be lost?

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
You can't watch Transporter 2 first! It'll be like reading Proust's À l'ombre des jeunes filles en fleurs without first having read Du côté de chez Swan.
(laughing out loud)
but I am finding it so entertaining!
You know, I was going to warn you off, le nubian, but I think watching the Transporter in reverse order might be best. I didn't make it through the second one, but if I hadn't been comparing it to the first (which I enjoyed SO MUCH) I might have liked it better.
oh shoot! well, the action scenes are intoxicating and the little boy is adorable. I will have to see the first movie now.
I just watched Eagle Eye, so I'm not really expecting high drama.
What -t said. I haven't seen 3 yet, so I can't comment on that one.
Transporter is one of those where random rescued woman falls in immediate lust for her rescuer and sex ensues?
Well, yes. Along with a hideously trivialized human trafficking plot. But it's got some of the most amazing fight scenes EVER.
See, now I want to pop in the DVD.
I saw Cedar Rapids last night, and it was cute. Although I expected more -- this is why I kind of hate going to see movies based on good reviews, because my expectations get too high!
I haven't seen 3 yet, so I can't comment on that one.
I haven't seen 3 yet, either, but I heard it was better than 2. I don't remember where I heard that, though, could be my fevered brain making up opinions out of whole cloth.
