It's simple. I slap 'em around a bit, torture 'em, make their lives hell...Sure, the nice guys'll run away, but every now and then you'll find a prince like Spike who gets off on it.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I'm stunned that I've seen 13, since I'm not the world's biggest SF fan. (Possibly 14, but I can't swear that I've seen The Day the Earth Stood Still.)

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Moon creeped me out. I liked the movie (there are no spiders, snakes, etc.), but there is one reveal that made me go: "man, that is fucked up."

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I haven't seen Metropolis (available on Netflix Instant!), Forbidden Planet (added to the queue), Mad Max 2 (the first and third movies are on Netflix Instant, so maybe I will have some sort of marathon one day), and Ghost in the Shell (on Netflix Instant, as is Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, awesome!!). I'm sure I saw Tron and RoboCop when I was younger, but they're in the queue.

Moon was really good, as was Primer.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

That story about what Greek statues really looked like is excellent.

What's that, sumi?

Has the restored version of Metropolis come out on DVD yet?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I haven't seen the four most recent ones, though I want to see Moon and Inception and Children of Men. Hadn't heard of Primer but I want to see it now.

They have a blind spot about early 70s science fiction. I'd put Silent Running up there as well as Clockwork Orange. Maybe The Omega Man or Soylent Green.

Should I watch the original Ghost in the Shell or the remastered Ghost in the Shell 2.0 version?

Hadn't heard of Primer but I want to see it now.

It is good!

How many fucking times can they restore it? I swear it's gone through more editions than Bladerunner.

They recovered a significant portion of the lost footage a couple of years ago.

This restoration added lost footage that was found in Germany. Actual Restoration! I think it was also tweaked to look clearer, IIRC.
