It's not like she blew me off. She just left with another guy, that's all.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Inception: Right. I really like the theory that it`s all Mal`s dream, but I don`t actually buy it. But yeah, in that version, she`s not dead in reality.

I definitely agree about the totem, and I think as used, there`s some room for problems. Dom says the concept of the totem is Mal`s idea. So it`s interesting to see that he uses hers rather than his own which perhaps he had when they were together?

What else? Oh yeah, gender. I agree that it could easily have been more than one female on the team, (and a novitiate member of the team at that) two in the movie. And it fails Bechdel quite spectacularly as Mal is Cobb`s foil and Ariadne is his therapist. The only time they talk is dealing with him.

The other thing I wondered was why only Cobb`s repressed past was a threat to them all? Because he was the only one who`d been in limbo? You would think that among that motley crew there`d be some other problematic backstories.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

I thought that Julie Powers was on.

Totally! She could have just stepped off the page.

hwæt

On the other hand, Envy was completely wrong. Not just her appearance; in the books Envy was aloof, in the movie she was just plain nasty.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I agree, Tom. Envy was definitely my least favorite portrayal. Although I do give Brie Larson props for doing her own singing.

I found it! Also, the shooting script is for sale on Amazon. On Amazon! I think that's astonishing. You probably knew that already, but I did not.

Here's the music thing: [link]

and the full piece, source material: [link]

I'm turning into a high school stoner. I've got to get out of my PJs and quit looking at stuff on line about Inception! Either that or go see it again.

Two tracks from Inception for free download, scroll down: [link]

Sincerely, I have never downloaded a piece of music onto my computer in my life. I clicked "download" on the above, and then my computer told me it was a zip file and couldn't save it, or play it, or deal with it, something like that. Is there something I'm supposed to do besides click "download"? If yes, what?

Just tried it again. It says, "Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file." Now what?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

You need to unzip the zip file. (Unless someone just changed the extension to .zip)

Quick question - will I like Scott Pilgrim vs. the World if I'm not into video games and not really a comic book geek?

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

If you didn't play video games in the 1980s you will miss a lot of the jokes but I think you'll still be able to relate.

My parents didn't like it.

Thanks. I played some arcade games back then....

Off I go (on my newly repaired bike!)
