I mean, let's say you did kill us. Or didn't. There could be torture. Whatever. But somehow you found the goods. What would your cut be?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

For those of you watching at home, today is Katherine Hepburn day on TCM. Lots of less frequently seen movies like Mary of Scotland, Sea of Grass, Quality STreet, Keeper of the Flame.

Tomorrow is Paul Newman day on TCM. Showing lots of good stuff. Among the lesser known ones that I've seen I can recommend Until They Sail (a big dramatic sweeping romantic WWII epic set in New Zealand. Paul is paired off very nicely with Jean Simmons), and The Prize which is one of my favorite faux-Hitchcocks, featuring Elke Sommer (with whom Paul has excellent chemistry) and megan walker's doppelganger, Diane Baker.

Screenplay by Ernest Lehman, who also wrote North By Northwest and it's very much of that vibe.

I haven't seen it but I'll probably also grab Paris Blues (Paul, Joanne Woodward, Sydney Poitier, jazz in Paris - woo!)

"already on the kiss-cam with Karl Marx"-

TCM is not Premium here, but we are now. Which mostly means I've watched "Funny People" a few more times, but whatever. I really liked "Funny People", although maybe not that many times. I'd rec it if you haven't seen it though.

Sadly, it is here. (Meaning it is above the basic digital package, not that it is a separate premium channel like HBO.)

Oooh, the rare Lon Chaney silent He Who Gets Slapped is coming up. Wow, they've got a John Gilbert day. Never seen his famous pairings with Garbo. There's Flesh and the Devil and Queen Christina. Huh. Look at all those Lee Remick movies, including Loot from the Joe Orton play. I really should see Experiment in Terror. I've got the soundtrack.

Well, it's not a stand-alone package, but my cable has multiple sets of non-premium, and TCM is stuck on one where it's the only thing of interest for me. The one I do have has a bunch of stuff I watch (SciFi, Bravo, IFC, Sundance, etc.), so it depends on your cable extorter..er..provider. Much as I'd love to have it I can't keep up with everything on the channels I do have, so it isn't worth it to pony up for just that.

Sweet! The Ruling Class is playing on Peter O'Toole day. So is The Stunt Man and My Favorite Year.

I'm going to miss their Summer Under the Stars programming.
