Spike: At least give me Wesley's office since he's gone. Angel: He's not gone. He's on a leave of absence. Spike: Yeah, right. Boo-hoo. Thought he killed his bloody father. Try staking your mother when she's coming on to you! Harmony: Well…that explains a lot.

"already on the kiss-cam with Karl Marx"-

TCM is not Premium here, but we are now. Which mostly means I've watched "Funny People" a few more times, but whatever. I really liked "Funny People", although maybe not that many times. I'd rec it if you haven't seen it though.

Sadly, it is here. (Meaning it is above the basic digital package, not that it is a separate premium channel like HBO.)

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Stop taunting me with your premium cable!

Oooh, the rare Lon Chaney silent He Who Gets Slapped is coming up. Wow, they've got a John Gilbert day. Never seen his famous pairings with Garbo. There's Flesh and the Devil and Queen Christina. Huh. Look at all those Lee Remick movies, including Loot from the Joe Orton play. I really should see Experiment in Terror. I've got the soundtrack.

TCM is basic!

Well, it's not a stand-alone package, but my cable has multiple sets of non-premium, and TCM is stuck on one where it's the only thing of interest for me. The one I do have has a bunch of stuff I watch (SciFi, Bravo, IFC, Sundance, etc.), so it depends on your cable extorter..er..provider. Much as I'd love to have it I can't keep up with everything on the channels I do have, so it isn't worth it to pony up for just that.

Ross Martin makes an excellent psycho.

Sweet! The Ruling Class is playing on Peter O'Toole day. So is The Stunt Man and My Favorite Year.

I'm going to miss their Summer Under the Stars programming.

Exactly. As a single person, I think it is hard enough to justify $65 a month for television, let alone more than that.

I watch so few channels beyond network that I wish there was some kind of package where I could cherry-pick 10 channels. And then I could get TCM, FSC, and TV5.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Wow, they've got a John Gilbert day. Never seen his famous pairings with Garbo.

See them. And don't rely on Queen Christina alone -- it's a Garbo vehicle first, last, and only. I mean, Gilbert is fine in it, but it's much more "Garbo featuring Gilbert" than "Garbo and Gilbert."

Fortunately, TCM comes in the same package that covers both the MLB network, and the upchannel variants of kid shows (Nicktoons, Sprout) etc. and it doesn't cost much more than the basic cable.

Yowza, they've got a slate of pre-code comedies coming up featuring Zasu Pitts! Look at those titles: Hips, Hips Hooray!; Maids a la Mode; Cockeyed Cavaliers; The Nickel Nurser; The Pip from Pittsburg; Dollar Dizzy; and Whispering Whoopee.

JZ would watch every single one of those just for the titles and the costumes.
