This is so nice. Having everyone together for my birthday. Of course, you could smash in all my toes with a hammer and it will still be the bestest Buffy Birthday Bash in a big long while.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Honestly, I saw it a long time ago and don't really remember. I'm pretty sure I liked it, but I also think it wasn't what I was expecting. I may have had mixed feelings.

Okay, I moved it to the top of my Netflix queue; I've been wanting to rewatch it anyway. Looks like I gave it four stars back in the day.

Wow, I thought there would be more discussion about Inception in here.

i've seen Inception three times in the theatre now. could probably go again and not feel too guilty for it.

I've seen it twice, am just back from the second viewing, and am all jacked up about it. I think it's a brilliant tale about loss, love, forgiveness and finding a way home within yourself. It's a roller-coaster, but the heart within the story is sooo breathtaking and tragic.

It's clearly not for everyone. A friend went with me, and 10 minutes in, leaned over and asked if it was this violent the rest of the movie. I told her honestly that I didn't think of it as violent. It's all just flash and metaphor around the true story of Dom finding his way back from a dark place with the help of his friends. I haven't loved a movie this much since sex lies and videotape. OMG I can't wait to see it a third time. I might even go search for a copy of a shooting script so I can read the dialogue.

Okay, I've gone hunting for writers more articulate than I whose views I share --

I like Drew McWeeny [really, that's his name??] reviews: 1. No spoilers: [link] 2. Spoiler-heavy analysis, "Revisiting 'Inception': A spoiler-heavy explanation of the year's trippiest film" [link] 3.

Wow, he raises an extra point I hadn't considered re the role of Saito. I might have to see this again tomorrow.

Cool, part 3 was just published today! [link]

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Wow, I thought there would be more discussion about Inception in here.

How far back did you look?

I searched for "Inception" and tiggy's was the only post that came up.

I searched for "Inception" and tiggy's was the only post that came up.

I'd say a good 50% of the talk from the last 1000 or so posts was Inception related. Start around 10,000 maybe? I can go back and look to see if I can be more specific...

ETA - maybe around here is when the talk really gets going Strega "Buffista Movies 7: Brides for 7 Samurai" Jul 17, 2010 4:27:35 pm PDT

Oh! Thank you very much. Don't know what the user error was in my search, but it was probably a user error. Thanks, I would be off to read right now but I just realized it's now after 2 AM. Yikes!

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

yeah, but Eric Bana beats Peter Sellers

So Peter Cushing must be up there too (especially when you throw in all the Hammer/horror movies).

So I just watched Point Break ! What the hell, all this time I thought it was sort of a cheesy so-bad-it's-good movie, but...it was actually pretty good! And Patrick Swayze was great!

So worth seeing even for just the foot-chase scene. I mean, he lobs a not-small DOG at Keanu!

What did you think of Strange Days?

Not P-C, but while I found the happy ending really forced in there, and the one big flaw in the movie, by that time I was so invested in Mace that I was happy for her and seriously relieved she made it through the movie alive.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Java cat,

I actually thought you were being sarcastic when you posted that. There has been SO much "Inception" talk.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Yeah, searching on the word gives 109 hits. The other simple thing to do is flip back in time to the opening date.

I loved Strange Days. I don't understand people seriously saying Point Break was good. It was many things, one of which can include enjoyable, but good?
