That wasn't Strangelove's. He just knew what it was when the Soviet ambassador announced that they had built and activated one.
Buffista Movies 7: Brides for 7 Samurai
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
Hmm. Indeed.
So I just watched Point Break ! What the hell, all this time I thought it was sort of a cheesy so-bad-it's-good movie, but...it was actually pretty good! And Patrick Swayze was great!

I think you just gave Ple a boner.
I was just talking about that movie tonight. I didn't know if the person was talking about Point Blank or Point Break and then I said it didn't matter because they were both awesome.
I had low expectations because I was expecting The Fast and the Furious with surfing, but it was much better. Although I did like The Fast and the Furious.
but it was much better.
How much of the Kathryn Bigelow ouevre have you explored?
I've actually seen it all at this point. Well, the major ones: Point Break, Near Dark, Strange Days, and The Hurt Locker. I have not seen K-19: The Widowmaker.
Now that I look at what I've seen of hers, I see she's got a Danny Boyle genre-hopping thing going on. And she's good at them all.
What did you think of Strange Days?
Honestly, I saw it a long time ago and don't really remember. I'm pretty sure I liked it, but I also think it wasn't what I was expecting. I may have had mixed feelings.
Okay, I moved it to the top of my Netflix queue; I've been wanting to rewatch it anyway. Looks like I gave it four stars back in the day.
