Nora, that's so rough for you. Please be gentle with yourself.
And yay Erin, and keepthejob~ma to Jilli and Plei.

Spike ,'Sleeper'
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Oh, Nora, I'm so sorry.
Keeping my fingers crossed for Jilli and Plei.
To go upthread a bit:
The really interesting part of the morning came when I was on my way to the dealer and driving through a school zone near my house-- woman behind me was putting on mascara, while driving, through the school zone. Mind-boggling what some people think is okay to do while driving.
Over the weekend, a woman was painting her fingernails while driving, failed to break, and killed a motorcyclist when she was thrown off her bike.
The hell?? That's insane.
I need the strength to tell my family that I failed and that there is no graduation to plan to go to. I need to tell them to cancel their hotel reservations and stop planning my party.
oh, honey, I know this is the terrible bit. If Tom isn't comfortable doing it, I would do this for you. Parents love me :) I wish that I could give you a hug right now.

Awww, Vortex, you are da bomb!
And you could make a nice living doing this. I had a friend in college who we all thought should offer his services as a coming out boyfriend because he was so charming to parents.
Nora, I am so sorry honey. What everyone else said - let Tom make the calls. I wish I could do something to make you not feel so devastated. If you want or need someone to read the papers anytime, please let me know. {{Nora}}
{{Nora}} Oh, honey, I am so so sorry. Please let Tom (or Vortex!) make the calls for you. I wish I was there to take you out for beers and commiserating. Don't be too hard on yourself. As others have said, it's a setback, not an end of the road.
Oh Nora, I am so sorry.
Sorry to hear it, Nora.
