Illyria: We cling to what is gone. Is there anything in this life but grief? Wesley: There's love. There's hope...for some. There's hope that you'll find something worthy...that your life will lead you to some joy...that after everything...you can still be surprised. Illyria: Is that enough? Is that enough to live on?

Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Unintentional bacon & eggs:

Observation: not all bacon is created equal. Cheap store brand bacon apparently substitutes some of the meat for salt, equal amounts in weight. So not worth the savings.

True, that, omnis. Do you have a Whole Foods near you? Their applewood smoked bacon is delish.

In general, regardless of price or brand, smoke cured bacon is going to be better tasting and better for you than salt cured bacon. And taste less like a salt lick.

Oh thank goodness. Others! And not in the island Others way. I've never had the thread to myself for hours like this before. Well. Not during daylight hours at least. It was spooky.

worked out in the yard for a bit -- but it is already too hot to stay out for long. I have eco -destruction to commit so I can make my drought tolerant garden. pout

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Hmm, lots of sleet action and snow, but it's not freezing. It's slushy. I don't plan on going anywhere today, but it's nothing to panic about (weathermen, I'm looking at you.)

My date was fun -- very Buffista-like! Sent me this link yesterday, which has some of the most howlingly awful purple prose I have ever read, which is saying a lot:

My jaw literally dropped at the character name, and stayed dropped for the rest of the review -- it's AWESOMELY bad stuff!

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I wonder if someone would go to the trouble of writing an entire novel as an April Fool's joke.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Ye gods, Erin. That's Spikenard bad. My skin crawls at most of it, not least of all the euphemism "codpiece." I imagine stitching and fancy embroidery and lots and lots of chafing and easily-lost foreign objects.

Is it too early for sequinage?

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Badfic: the Buffista equivalent of flowers and candy.
