Wow. I thought this book couldn't shock me any more. I was wrong. Elsie's father saw her playing jacks with some other kids, and told her that she wasn't allowed to play that game, because it's unladylike to sit on the floor. A few days later, the kids want to play again. She tells them that she's not allowed to, and tells them why. Someone suggests that they play on a table instead of on the floor, and Elsie goes to ask her father if that would be alright. As punishment for asking again after he told her that the game wasn't allowed, he shuts her in the closet. Actually, he tells her to shut herself in the closet, which she does, obediently and submissively, as she does everything.
Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Did Elsie come out of this with PTSD?
California people: Is it easier to fly into Lax or John Wayne airport if one is going to Pasadena? We're trying to figure out if it is feasible financially and schedule wise to go to a get together being planned for D in the next couple of weeks.
Burbank, if you can. Then probably LAX.
Thanks, Perkins. Burbank was much more expensive than the other options.
I figured it might be. If Orange county is cheaper than LAX, go for that. It will mean more driving, but it's a smaller airport and easier to deal with.
Can you give me an approximate idea of thr driving time?
Maybe an hour for OC, and 45 minutes for LAX, give or take depending on traffic and what part of Pasadena.
Thanks.
For Pasadena also look at Ontario airport. About the same distance as LAX but the freeways are typically easier to traverse between Ontario and Pasadena.
I do the drive from Pasadena to Costa Mesa quite a bit and come to about 2 miles away from John Wayne Airport. Absolute best case on travel is 45 minutes. It's about 52 miles. Worst it has taken me is 4 hours. Average is about 90 minutes.
