I, for one, wasn't looking forward to starting my day with a slaughter. Which, really, just goes to show how much I've grown

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Can someone Nilly me the post for Stephanie's address? I'm having a brain fade.

Trust my rage

I just happen to be here!

It's Ellie Izaguirre, PO Box 34091, Ft. Buchanan, PR 00934

Ellie is looking a lot more chipper. Hopefully we will be out of there in 2-5 days. I'm working right now on getting a second opinion on pulling all her teeth from an endodontist in NM for next week.

I cannot believe your student assistant, Vortex. I wish you awesome vocabularies of coherent rage tomorrow.

It will be ice cold. And he will be forced to articulate his incompetence in front of his supervisor.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Vortex, I wish you luck. But ... you know he'll probably spend the next few years thinking of you as the person who didn't appreciate how HARD he tried. Until life smacks some sense into him. Most of us learn this lesson fairly early; some never do.

Thanks, Stephanie! I hope she's out sooner, rather than later!

There are worse things. I can live with that.

I can't get over that guy, Vortex. What an entitled little asswipe. Does he not realize that results are what matter, rather than effort?

Unfortunately, we are dealing with a generation of young people who have been told that trying is just as good. Not all of them believe that, of course, but plenty of them do.

It's the thought that counts. Thinking the deed is as good as doing the deed. t /catholic

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

It's going to be a "teaching moment" for our meeting tomorrow. I will rip him a new asshole.

Any chance we could get streaming video in your office by 2 PM tomorrow? I would pop popcorn and make drinks for everyone.

Please, please, please?? I was sitting here thinking I wish I could watch, and then JZ posted this. This is perfect. We can ALL watch!!

Actual conversation from today (and one that I've had more than once):

Student: So, if I turn in my missing work, my grade will go up from a C to a B?

Me: Ummm...not necessarily. First, your late work is only worth 1/2 credit. Secondly, it depends on how well you do the assignment. It's all about math and how the numbers add up.

Student: What?

Me: If you do the assignments poorly and only get 2 points, that won't bring your grade up. You have to do the assignments well to get more points.

Student: What?
