I like books. I just don't want to take on too much. Do they have an introduction to the modern blurb?

Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

That's fantastic!

Our wings are not tired.

Love the blue hair! What fun.

Trying to get my ducks in a row. DH is sleeping because he is getting up at 1am to drive with a couple kids for an 'official visit' to a university in NC for basketball. I'll end up getting up to be sure he packs underwear. Then doing the work thing tomorrow. Tomorrow night going with the boys to see grandma in Ft. Lauderdale, then Saturday going to our west coast to see the other grandparents for their granddad's birthday.

In the meantime, watching Fringe. Trying to not fall asleep because I like the show.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Katie, I LOVE the blue hair!!! Both as Marge and as you!!!

Connie, it's better that he stay overnight -- for him AND for you. You do enough to take care of him as it is; he's post-surgery, his saturation is low -- like you said, let the professionals take care of him.

I hope you are able to get some rest while the hospital is taking care of hubby, Connie.

Herding cats for fun

I had SO much fun being Zombie Marge... I had a quarter of a plastic brain to clutch, and I got to stumble around asking people, "Excuse me, but do you know anybody with some braaaaaaiiins?" It felt like a really Buffista costume.

I think my favorite moment was scaring off a pack of about six young teenage boys who went hurrying past us, and broke into a run when I zombied to the end of the driveway asking them for "Braaaaaaiiiiiinss!" Maybe those were the little punks who tagged the Giant Pumpkin growing in the front yard.

Katie Bee your Zombie Marge was genius!

Now tagless for your comfort.

I want to bitch slap the swine flu partiers. I'm not usually paranoid about illness but I'm fairly certain I have it. Vice-like headache, fever, chills, vomiting, coughing, dizziness.

I need to call someone to watch Liv tomorrow because I know I can't function.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I think I've decided who else I'm going to ask for a recommendation. It's a professor who I've had for classes several times, and I did pretty well in those classes. I did really well in the last class I took with him. Also, at least twice that I can think of, when a student in one of his advanced undergrad classes needed a tutor, he specifically recommended me.

Also, he's my officemate's advisor, and I know that my officemate has no sense of discretion whatsoever and that whenever I get frustrated with my advisor and talk to my officemate about it, he then tells at least some of it to this professor. So he knows what the issues are without me having to seem like I'm going behind my advisor's back or anything. Plus, he's ridiculously punctual, so at least that's one recommendation that'll be in on time. (One of my other references is always late with everything, and I know that my advisor never actually wrote recommendations for two people that he'd said he's write them for in the past few years.)
