Mal: Hell, this job I would pull for free. Zoe: Can I have your share? Mal: No. Zoe: If you die, can I have your share? Mal: Yes.

'The Train Job'

Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Apparently I have a different parenting style, but I do value the communication I have with the boys and hope that by working with them they might listen to me about important things, or at least value my opinion.

I hope that works! And I hope the boy's just watching the game. And eating nachos. Because nachos are good.

I am truly impressed, P-C, with the way that conversation went and your ability to deflect escalation.

Thanks! I'm a bit proud of myself too. It was easy to stay calm when she was staying calm as well.

Of course, I did just get this e-mail:

HI SUNIL CAN YOU PLEASE COPY THIS PAGE KEEP ONE IN CAR, ONE IN YOUR OFFICE, AND ONE AT HOME. SO YOU CAN READ THEM 11 TIME EVERYDAY. IT DOESN'T MATTER WHEN YOU SAY THEM BUT NEED TO SAY THEM. DO THIS FOR ME PLEASE. MOMMY

PATNIMA MANORAMAAM DEHEE
MANOVRUTANU SARINIMA
TARINIMA DURGA SANSAR
SAGARSYA KULODABHAVAAM

I can't even pronounce the mantra correctly! At least I know the tune. Okay, got it. For kicks. I'm not going to say it eleven times a day because I sure as hell won't remember to do that, but maybe I'll say it every now and then as a good-faith effort and tell her I'm trying. Or something. I'm not fasting though; that takes more work.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

Go You , P-C. there might be some backwards steps, but as long as things can be done with less drama, I'd say it is good.

Laura, he isn't being wild or evil, but he is being disrespectful. I think your plan is pretty good. The consequences of him not letting you know his plans, well, you can't help him with his plans. He is still a child, but he is reaching for adulthood. If he wants to be treated like an adult, well he has to act like one. Maybe it is time to let him know some of your expectations for behavior after high School

and hugs all around to those in need -- I'd spread some extra sleep around but I don't have any.

and I too, found omnis ending post in delurking quite lovely

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Teppy, was that the Blue Monkey Sideshow or another sideshow? I saw BMS in Indiana once and they KICKED ASS. I would totally hire them for a party.

It was the Pickled Brothers Sideshow. Apparently Travis is in the Guinness Book of World Records for putting 11 Madagascar hissing cockroaches in his mouth. (He had one last night. I almost had to leave. Seriously.)

I keep meaning to get one of their "I [heart] Freaks" bumper stickers.

lisah! Congrats! Confetti!

::was A Good Girl in high school. no, really. will ALWAYS regret it::

Am still A Good Girl, as was in high school.

Do not regret it, though I'd wish I'd take things more lightly. Not just then.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

That's fantastic, lisah! So happy for you! I hope you have lots of champagne and oysters on your honeymoon.

You had a better Halloween than I did.

Wait...Matilda's candy bucket is right there...

“Not dead yet!”

WOOOO HOOOOOO lisah! What a wonderful Halloween for you!

Laura, you could always casually remind the boy that it is El Dia de los Muertos...

IJS...

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I just hit Matilda's candy bucket muttering, "There are consequences for actions, missy..."

My rationalization amuses me.
