'Conversations with Dead People'

Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Timelies! I'm about to go out on campus for Sustainability Day but wanted to check in first.

Shir, I know it's not a big deal, but have you tried a bit of rubbing alcohol to take off the ink? At least nightly so you don't wake up with inky sheets.

Today's Halloweeny outfit:
Black cotton shirt and skirt
Red headband
White oval earrings with a black tree and red leaves on red ground - they're a little bit fall, a little bit Halloween, a little bit MCR
Red silk scarf with white flowers, which if you look at it like red on white could be blood spatters - it's now my Dexter scarf
Ichabod, my carved bat pendant
Red/black striped socks with silver glittery skulls on them

Sadly, I forgot to grab my oversized red skull ring.

smonster, Did I mention that I love you?

Now, I haven't tried it. I'll do now - I'm just, you know, want to look at my hand from time to time without the constant reminder that yes, I am a student, hence reminding the tons of articles I've yet to read.

But at least it'll keep the sheets, if not my mind, clean.

And, Halloween! I do need to find some Halloweenish recipe to bake.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

oh sure, the last thing I read before a long day of work is Shir and a dirty mind.

Timelies all!

:: off to another 14 hour work day... wheeeee :: I can't wait for Halloween. I get to sleep ALLLLLL DAY (assuming the sound system is stable and working).

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

It's good that I've finally finished the literature review chapter of my dissertation.

It's less good that it's meant to be a max of 3000 words, and is currently 4800.

Next on the list: actual research! That's better.

How else would we know everything's right with the universe?

Heh - thanks! I was supposed to have finished it back in about April, I think. Still, at least I got there in the end. Sort of. Now for the rest of the dissertation. By November 30th. Without losing the plot entirely in the meantime. I hope.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Dissertation~ma, Seska!

I should be leaving for a doctor's appointment soonish. It's just a check up, but after a crappy night of sleepy, I just don't want to go. I'll go anyway, of course.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Okay, I'm a bit obsessed with epidemic disease.

My friend Seanan has a very informative song called "The Black Death."

As a side note, I watched a film called Doomsday this past weekend. It was about a viral epidemic. It was sort of a cross between 28 Days Later, Escape from New York and The Road Warrior. No real epidemeology but it did include the Younger Pertwee getting roasted and eaten by vicious Scots.

Yeah, I watched that last week. There were a lot of decapitations.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I think I'd much rather have mild flu-like symptoms for 36 hours than be knocked off my feet for a full week (which is what happened when I had the flu several years ago).

Last time I had the flu was eighth grade. I missed two weeks of school from the actual flu, another week from the sinus infection I got from being congested for so long, and another week from the allergic reaction to the antibiotics the doctor prescribed for the sinus infection.
