Teppy, the beer bread is awesomely easy! And tastes great with potato & leek soup!
DH took one look at the soup and bread when he got home and said, "I'm going to put on sweatpants."
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Must try the beer bread, possibly next time we're stuck indoors on a rainy Saturday. A quick jaunt through Google turns up about a billion ridiculously simple variations, including cheddar, onion rye and rosemary feta. OMG so hungry now!
I had an actually helpful meeting with my advisor today. We've been going back and forth with "You need to write more here," "I don't know what to write," for a while, for the introduction to an article I'm writing. I finally just kept replying to all of his "You need to write more" comments with, "Do you have any suggestions for what I should write?" and after about five repetitions of that, he actually gave me some suggestions, and I think I can work with those to get this done.
Also, with the edits we went over with my research statement, I think that I'll be able to finish that tomorrow. So that'll be CV done, teaching statement done, research statement done, and I got a draft of a cover letter done today, which I can edit tomorrow. And then I'll be ready to apply for jobs. Yikes.
Those are gorgeous, but I think I got a blister on my heel just THINKING about them.
that was my first thought too. Whoever (whomever?) wears them first has to report back to the group on how much they hurt.
Did the beer bread recipe get posted? I searched but I couldn't find it, and now I'm intrigued.

Ahahahaha.
Tom will be OK, travelling has messed with his system and some things need to work out. And eat more fiber!
ETA: Thanks for all the ~ma!
it was posted textually but since it's only three ingredients it was easy to miss.
Yay, Tom being okay!
Yay for productive meeting with advisor, Hil.
Feel better, all you sickies.
I have a pie in the oven. Yeah, I cheated, it's a boughten crust. Zestar, Lakeside, Gala, and Sweet16, and made it with Splenda.
Amy, I just used 3 cups self-rising flour, 1/3 cup sugar and 12 oz of beer. Mixed, plopped into greased loaf pan and baked at 375 for 1 hour.
