I loved living in Colorado and would move back in a heartbeat. In fact, it was one of my job search locations for this school year and will be again for next year.
Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Aims, did you ever get my emails?
::scurries back to go look at pictures of cute apartments::
I kind of need to be near an ocean.
I used to think this. Shoot, I drove along the bay and had a wonderful view of SF every morning on my way to work. But with the majesty of the mountains and the amazingly blue sky here, I don't miss it as much as I thought I would. I really thought being landlocked would be one of the hardest things to adjust to with my move and it really was never an issue.
Call the billing department and ask to have it removed. If they say they don't have the authority, ask to speak to someone who does.
At first, she offered me a $10 credit. I said, no, I wanted the whole charge taken off since no one told me there would be a charge (and I spoke to MULTIPLE people) and, hell, I can't even find a policy on service call charges on the website. There's no way to know. Plus the guy came late, and someone from Comcast may have been the one to have accidentally shut off my cable anyway.
She spoke to her supervisor and is now processing the credit for me. Kickass.
I've skipped, seen I can't make reason with any of the posts I've seen, read 20 posts before the recent ones, and still, I feel like I'm bursting in.
So first. Hey Bitches. Feels like ages.
The internship goes well. The sociology class that's in English is absolutely fantastic. And in that note -
Dear parents of pretty boy in class and/or God and/or whoever who was responsible for pretty boy in said class being so pretty -
Thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you. You've made greatness, for he isn't just "hot", "gorgeous" or whatnot - he's a piece of art to look at. Even his Russian accent is beautiful.
You have no idea how much that's missing around me.
Love,
Me

Glad to hear it. And re your pretty boy in the class: hee.
Long, long day. Six weeks left till dissertation deadline. I just have to stay awake long enough to get it done by then, and all will be well. OK, sleep now.
For those who share my love of Mike Rowe, he has a website called mikeroweWORKS.com, [link] wherein he talks about working, the people who work, has some videos of people working, and has links to various and sundry things Dirty Jobs-related and not.
mmm, Mike Rowe . . .
So, while we're talking about San Francisco -- I'm going to be there for a conference in January. What kind of weather should I expect? What kind of neighborhood is the Moscone Center in?
I think I've owned a house with a yard for too many years to be able to cope with San Francisco this side of suddenly coming into millions. I know my genealogy too well to hope for a mysterious bequest.
The line for flu shots was in the pediatric area, and a couple of boys who looked around 4 were watching Dora, who is being chased by bad guys in a castle. One little boy says excitedly, "They don't know what's under there!" Another says, in world-weary tones, "Oh, *they* know. They just ask us because it's more educational."
