Zoe: Next time we smuggle stock, let's make it something smaller. Wash: Yeah, we should start dealing in those black-market beagles.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

GC, congrats on the confirmation of health. Exciting baby stuff!

My psychiatrist thinks I'm depressed because I don't sound as "peppy" as usual and I haven't been going out much lately.

These people can be such idiots sometimes. My GP's always asking about my "mood", while I'm bouncing around cheerfully in my wheelchair opposite her. She doesn't really get the concept of stabilized mental illness, or that I take medication to prevent relapse. Also, I'm fairly sure she thinks my complex genetic condition is psychosomatic. Bloody GPs.

The next trip I really want to take: Iceland --> Berlin --> Thailand.

Heh. Cool. The Girl and I want to go to Norway (no, not Kenya). Northern Lights! Possibly next year.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

I'm sewing a skirt out of a shirt while listening to Mudhoney.

Aside of that heat wave (that will last until Monday!), everything is good.

Ooh, I hope The Girl packed right. She just left for your part of the world. It's been heavy clothes weather here.

It's an "A/C is an essential part of surviving" type of weather here, Seska.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

My mother and her mother are conspiring to drive me crazy.

My mother's visiting London and staying with my grandmother. All week my grandmother has been sending me e-mails demanding that I come over for dinner with them tonight. In Friday evening traffic, getting up to the suburbs will take over an hour, and then I'd have to get back again, and I'm very very tired at the moment, and I've been trying to explain this with requests that they could please try to remember that I don't have spare energy anymore, while offering them alternatives for meeting up. This information has been ignored repeatedly, with requests from my grandmother for me to call my mother and "discuss it" (i.e. be pressured to change my mind) until I stopped responding to the e-mails.

This morning, my mother leaves me voicemail saying they'd love me to come over for dinner tonight, and could I please ring to confirm when I'll be arriving.

Gah. Family that regularly and conveniently ignore the fact that their daughter's been disabled for the past four years. It's not like it happened yesterday, people.

In my poor mother's defense, she's just called me (from the bathroom of the mall they're in - only place she can get away from my grandmother!) to apologise for all the pressure. Apparently it's being exerted from my grandmother's side, and she's making my mother fill her 48 hours in London with a ridiculously packed schedule. Crazy.

OK, somebody should tell Mother Nature it's the end of freaking October here. For the next few days it'll be 95-105F degrees (35-40C) here.

Where do I file a complaint?

If I could send you the snow, I would.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Wanna trade? I've got high 30s and raining here!
