Aren't they something. They're like butterflies, or little pieces of wrapping paper blowing around.

Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

And, just for Hil, Homemade vegan candy corn.

I'm going to a vegan potluck on Halloween. That is perfect.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I've never gotten into candy corn, but now I'm interested in picking up the stuff for almond bark! Easy to make (melt in the microwave, mix almonds into the white chocolate, pour over waxed paper, let cool, break apart) and oh, so yummy.

(JZ, did you see the Mucha-Sarah Bernhardt patterns I posted in Natter?)

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

Ok, what's the first thing that comes to people's minds for a knife thrower's assistant's costume?
Kevlar

Actually, Kevlar is a bad thing. Kevlar stops high speed small projectiles, but ya get jabbed in a knife fight. Something to think about when the riot police come at ya.

Just spent 15 minutes scritching the shop cat. He has a rear paw in a cast, and is trapped in the carpenters office for another couple weeks, poor bugger. He jumped down from his perch by the window that looks into the shop, onto the desk, into my lap, stayed there for a bit getting scritched, purring, then slowly crawled up my torso, onto my shoulder, with his weight it tipped the chair back some, and hopped onto the cat tower thingie. Very funny. Now off to Fry's to see if they have a video quad display thingie and some IR panels. Weeeee!

{{{ Shir }}} just because. It's not an easy time for you in many ways, but we all love you here, and have your back.

Healing~ma to all and their sprog that need it. if it makes you feel better, our head of Development (i.e. fund raising) has Swine Flu! Just in time for the grand opening of the new theater. Fun, right?

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I'm thinking of getting my hair cut really short. It's all damaged from too much processing and hard water, and there's just no fix for that except letting it grow out. Which I'm doing but it's hideous. So I'm thinking of basically starting over, cutting it really short and eschewing commercial dye from now on in favor of henna. (It should look pretty cool, the gray streaks will turn red and the black will stay black. Hopefully.)

But I'm skeered. What do you hair experts think? It's really curly; will it end up TOO short? Will I look like a tiny head on a huge body?

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

I did, Kathy. I swear, someday when I live in a palatial mansion (or just an apartment with lots of windows and cozy window seats), every appropriate space is going to be littered with Art Nouveau cross-stitch pillows. They are SO GORGEOUS.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

I won the auction on the ruched pencil skirt! I was the only bid, even, so I paid less than I was willing to. I think my costume is complete, except for possibly some lipstick.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Did I mention already how envy I am in you people for having Halloween? I'm dying to see how it looks like for real just for once (or twice. Or more!)

I thought about taking a Nightmare before Christmashy with me to uni to honor the day, until I saw it's on a Saturday. Boo!

(I'll probably just end up baking stuff in the spirit of the day. Anyone got cool muffin ideas and recipes to bake for the following week? People will always look for a reason to eat, and I'm looking for reasons to bake.)

There will be pictures, yes?

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

My crappy day, let me show you it:

  • As I was leaving the house for my glucose test (7:30AM), the power went out.
  • It rained like crazy all day (usually I love this as we don't get it often, but not today).
  • I felt light-headed and nauseous throughout the test.
  • When I got home at 12:30, the power was still out.
  • I had to miss 2 afternoon work meetings due to no Internet access. I hate that because I want to be able to work from home more now that I'm in the 3rd trimester. Hopefully they won't hold it against me.
  • Power company was out front all afternoon and finally left, saying they needed a part and we were looking at probably 5 more hours of no power.
  • I'm at the local library using the Internet and charging my phone. It is hot and full of kids, making me nervous about the old H1N1.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

What is too short ZenKitty?

Do You have a hairdresser you trust?

How much do you identify with you hair

You could go in stages, but I'd go for it . the worse that happens, you hate your hair for awhile, and it sounds like that right now.

I swear that my perscription for abuterol was less than a year old. but it is not in the pharmacy data base. so I call the doctor's office - and I get to talk to staff. Which is ok, but really they don't know drugs , they don't understand all the ramifications -- and they don't ask all the right questions. It took 4 phone calls the last time I need to straighten things out . Pleas let this be simple. I'd like to breathe better ( ps -- also slightly peeved that I let my self run out of something that is for EMERGENCIES . Really how big is it to test something once in awhile?)
