What? She killed 'em with mathematics. What else could it have been?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

checking my work email every so often. That counts right?

This is definitely my definition of WAH! Hope you feel better quickly.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I also don't resond well to "don't cry." DH has decided that "there, there" is the most neutral comfort response.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I hear "don't cry" as a plea more than an instruction, so it doens't bother me, but I get why it would.

Our wings are not tired.

Smonster, I am sorry about the middle-of-the-night troubles and crying. Totally been there and it sucks.

Can someone explain to me what an acquaintance wrote on my facebook status yesterday? I was annoyed by her comment, and haven't addressed it with her, but I want to make sure that I'm not missing something plain as day.

I wrote:

Steve moves to Boston in 4 weeks. I do not accept this premise. I know far too well about long-distance relationships. DO NOT WANT.

She wrote:

Nanita -- stop resisting - make it easier on yourself ;(

Any ideas on what she means?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I'd be annoyed too, Java. That's awfully cryptic.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Any ideas on what she means?

I'd try and take it as harmlessly as possible, even though it is a bit ham-handed. I think she's trying to tell you to accept the inevitable and the emoticon is her trying to be nice about it.

Our wings are not tired.

Well, her husband left her last year so I am guessing it's the kind of lesson she's been teaching herself. But our circumstances are so very different; my boyfriend has been looking for work for a year and a half in his field, and finally has found something - on the other side of the continent. I am not going to engage her on it, I don't think it be useful.

But, yeah. I was a little surprised to see it as a response to my status.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Any ideas on what she means?

I think it's nicey-nice speak for "Suck it up, buttercup." With a layer of for-your-own-good smoothed on top.

I'm also in A Mood today, so you should probably take my interpretation with a grain or 12 of salt.

Calli, you nailed it. That's why it's a pisser.
