I hate to break it to you, oh impotent one, but you're not the big bad anymore, you're not even the kind of naughty.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

I can try and convince KBD to go to the doctor, but I think it's going to be tough, especially b/c he's unemployed and uninsured.

Let him rest. Unless he's sicker-than-usual, that's really what he's going to need anyway.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I'm sorry Erin, that's rough.

Also echoing the "sounds like the flu" meme, smonster. I hope KBD gets well soon.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I went to PT today for the eval on my ankle. That was interesting, as usual. Several confused looks from the physical therapist and she tested a joint to find the range of motion, and it turned way further than she expected. One of the movements, usually the upper limit for what you'd expect is 30 degrees. I had 35 degrees on my left foot, and 50 degrees on the right foot. Another test, she said she couldn't actually do the test, because the test was to press on my heel and see how far a certain bone would move before it stopped, and she was pushing it into what she said was way out of where it should be possible to go, and there wasn't any resistance.

So, next week, I'm going to have to see a different therapist, because my usual one will be out of town, so a whole new person to give me confused looks.

Yeah, just what you want to hear from a health care professional. "I've never seen one do that before."

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Skipping ahead to say to Erin:

THIS is why I adore Erin. You so deserve better. That sounds like a toxic environment and fuck 'em with a rusty chainsaw if they can't take a real person.

Seconding this, Barb has nailed precisely what I want to say to you.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Maybe it's because Ohio is an at-will state, because it would be perverse to deny someone unemployment when their employer fired them with the reason of (and I quote) "You're not working out."

Then Minnesota is perverse. We're at-will, and generally if one is anything other than laid off one has to fight for it.

OTOH? I've always won my fights, because even if I've had some issues, the other side's actions were always worse.

Yeah, just what you want to hear from a health care professional. "I've never seen one do that before."

I hear that from medical professionals all the time. My basic measure of doctors is that I stick with the ones who follow that up with geeking out and looking up stuff, and drop the ones who follow that with focusing on the symptoms that make more sense to them.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

so a whole new person to give me confused looks.

This always awesome. I've had one PT know what Erb's Palsy was (one who was treating me for something else), and the rest had to have it explained. And one Dr. who tried to look it up and couldn't find it. Seriously? I don't know what lousy internet Physician's Reference you're using, but I've had luck with Google myself.

That is to say, good luck, Hil.
