Mooooom! bt is dropping the "Cute" bomb first thing Sunday morning again. Not fair! Can't be ded with lethal!cute first thing on a Sunday. Seriously, I wanna be reincarnated as a kid of Wallabee and BillyTea. Not only will I be a hottie, but will have awesome parents!
I stopped going to Spina Bifida events because I was sick of hearing how lucky I am.
This is me, sort of. Not Spina Bifida, but one of the "mild" Muscular Dystrophies. People forget there are 40 or so different diseases in that classification. Mine is one of the 7 or so that *don't* kill you. Directly, at least. But as a kid, at summer camp, at MD clinic, etc, I was sick of hearing "oh you are so lucky". Finally said to the doctor once, "if I was so lucky, how come I have this shit?!". Kinda stopped it for awhile, at least at the clinic.
ION. How does one manage to start the shower with shampoo, and then manage to go the entire course of the shower and NOT rinse it out? Yup, figured it out with first contact of the towel on the head. :: face-palm ::
Off to see "9" in the theater before it escapes.
Other Buffista parents: this whole lethal cuteness phase Ryan has going on, that lasts, what, forever? Is that about right?
Emmett has exited the larval (lethal cute) stage and is transitioning through a chrysalid of dashing and handsome.
Whilst Emmet may not be cute in the sense that Matilda is cute, I fear that his lethality has only increased; I was weeping like a weeping thing over the report he wrote about his baby sister's arrival, and how unimpressed he was initially, what with her not being an iPhone, and then how utterly besotted he was upon actually making her acquaintance. And continues to be. I mean, that was some serious, Grade A Lethal Cuteness right there.
I'm not as eloquent as Nilly, so I'll go with a more standard form:
If I've offended anybody this year, through my words or deed, intentionally or unknowingly, I am sorry.

Just about, but as Hec said, it evolves.
We had a very big Good Thing happen today! A success in some behavior mod for Emeline. A few weeks ago, I created a behavior chart thingie. It has a castle at the top, and a path with cobblestones. There is a foam princess on a popsicle stick with a pin in the bottom. One side of the path says, "MOVE UP!" and a list of things that will move the princess up one space - Helping with laundry, vacuuming a room, cleaning up without reminding. The other side of the path says "MOVE DOWN" and the same sort of list with whinging (b/c I mispelled it), stomping, arguing, etc. The sky above castle has some cotton ball clouds and a big, sparkly sun and it's surrounded by rewards for reaching the castle. Candy! Sleepover! Baking with Mommy! Ice Cream!
This morning, Emeline reached the castle for the first time!! Things have been a lot better as far as her behavior and habits. She's cleaning up without reminding, she's looking for things to help with that will move her up a space, she's going to be without fighting, and as a result, we are a much happier Miracleborn household. WOOHOO!!! Thank you Supernanny!!
She got a bag of M&M's (her choice) as her reward just now. She's very proud and we just heaped a crapton of praise on her.
Aw, that's great, Aims! What a cute idea.
Go, Emeline! That's great.
Aims, you should sell those charts on Etsy - that's such an awesome idea.
Here's the one we made: [link]
