It's my estimation that... every man ever got a statue made of him, was one kind of sumbitch or another.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Marriage is hard. Don't do it with strangers.

I think there is a long history of arranged marriages working. But its with people who, you know, are for it. Either they want it or think its best or they accept the cultural expectation and go with it. I don't think that's where you are, PC.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

This.

I'm not saying it can't work. I am just .. going to point back up at everything Liese said before and better.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

Timely greetings, people.

I have an occupational therapist coming shortly. These visits tend to be just on the right side of completely useless, but we'll see if she has any interesting solutions for my various issues with my tiny flat. Like bumping into things and falling over everywhere.

P-C, wishing you all the best with the marriage situation. I have no useful experience or advice to share, except that my partner is going through the recriminations involved in having the 'wrong' kind of relationship/marriage for her family. It's hard work. I can't imagine how much harder work it is for you in your situation. But the advice here from Bitches seems really good.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

{{{P-C and Bitches}}} All the best. And good luck. Figuring your personal opinions about almost everything, in a very intimate perspective, is very hard IMHO.

(Signed, she how's mother thinks she doesn't have a bf because "it's not high on her priority list". IRL, she doesn't have a bf because honestly, she doesn't know what the fuck is up with and what to do with this extremely confusing "love" concept, and just figures that when her time comes, it'll come. But that's not that much a question of priority - having a bf isn't like having milk on the fridge, something to mark off the list. And let's face it, while I can wake up without a bf at my side, I can't see how I'll wake up without coffee).

Shana tova*, everyone who celebrates Rosh Hashanah! I just went out to get chullah bread and honey cake. We're making roast lamb later. Should be lovely.

Shir - enjoy your celebrations.

*I hope I got that right. The Girl taught me!

“Not dead yet!”

Shana tova!. We're having dinner tonight w/ the in-laws before they head off to temple. Here's hoping for peace and not the Spanish Inquisition with respect to the impending move.
