Hey! What a surprise! Hostile 17! Can I get you a drink, Hostile 17?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

I haven't heard anything today. I thought I'd call on my way home to see how it's going.

When's your dad's surgery? We'll be sending good thoughts his way.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I am home today, after leaving early yesterday. I finally succumbed to this cold or flu or whatever is kicking my ass. I slept 11 hours and feel almost human. Very nice to wake up to so many interesting posts on the board.

Also, ALLYSON, we have matching tats! I have an atom, which I got for my 40th birthday. I have to say, I think yours is cooler.

“Not dead yet!”

Ooh... the banquette in the first Burien house is to DIE for.

This is one we've been looking at. I love the kitchen.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

sending out the ~ma to DJ's friend's mom, and Rigatoni, and omnis's dad, and Brenda's sister. Lots of ~ma, all around.

I gave up trying to classify all my cousins. Apparently I'm related to half the state of Tennessee. Anyone my grandparents' age was "Aunt" and "Uncle" and anyone younger was "Cousin". I called people whatever my mom called them. At some point in my developing awareness I realized that all these old people (my grandmother had a LOT of friends and relatives and someone visited every day) had first and last names, and lives wherein they knew each other before I came along. I remember being somewhat shocked to find that the old guy who smelled like whiskey and drew me rabbits was not just "Uncle C.D.", he was my grandmother's brother, Charles D. Stone, once the little kid in the old family photo in the spare bedroom. Frankly, it was weird.

I still miss getting an Easter Dress. I think I'll start again.

Oh, that's a tradition I like. Is it too late to buy this year's Easter dress?

I also love the term "anecdata", and will steal it.

Yet another reason why I need to finish my bookshelves and get all my books unpacked so I can at least figure out what I own.

-t is me.

I think you should casually mention how being preggers makes you hungry all the time and then faint dramatically about 20 minutes later.

A friend of mine actually did that! Not faking. We were in one of those one-hour meetings that turn into 3 hours because no one will shut up, and after timidly mentioning a couple times that she hadn't had breakfast, she turned paper-white and passed out and fell out of her chair. (She was fine. Just needed OJ and an egg sandwich.) Ever since then, anytime one of us ladies says firmly, I have to eat now, the team meeting wraps up in a hurry. We try not to abuse our power.

Happy house-hunting, Barb!

oo, long post. I should be working.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

And I just talked to another one of us, and we're thinking she may fly here and I'll drive her home if needed.

Her mom just got out of surgery, and said for K not to come unless, "Things took a turn for the worse." There is an infection, which is scary, but K also has 2 kids and a job that while being cool about taking the time she needs, can't really be done by someone else.
