I wanna die in bed surrounded by fat grandchildren, but guess that's off the menu.

All these food posts are making me hungry!!...and I suddenly realize I didn't really eat dinner yesterday! I had a late breakfast, and "lunch" was at 4:30, but it was only a couple slices of pizza. So no wonder I was starving late last night at 2:30AM! I want a fridge full of food! WIthout having to make one! Can I come over, Buffistas?

I was going out dancing, with some friends, which was at moments very disappointing, and very fun, and back and forth. Randomly, the "prefunk" before dancing ended up being at my house, which involved me racing home to clean. And then us playing Apples to Apples (I suddenly feel old).

And when we went dancing, I was wearing a vest. With nothing under it. It was not meant to be worn that way. Though a LOT of the other girls out that night were wearing vests, so I was on-trend, as it were...I did feel very under-dressed. Seattle is not dressy. People wear freakin' HOODIES to the bar. OTOH, I also felt very sexy, so I wasn't too concerned. Other than the fact that there weren't other hotties in the bar, sigh. I commiserated with my friends. One of whom kept trying to get me to hit on random girls, who I kept eyeing, and eventually noticing had girlfriends. My friend, not about the subtle art of hitting on girls in bars. ...even her friend who she threw me at later in the evening, who was all "Um, uh, heh, um, will you dance with me?"...had a girlfriend who came up to us after one dance and was all "I wondered where you went! HI, I"M THE GIRLFRIEND!" Ahem. I was all "HI THE GIRLFRIEND!" Sigh. I just wanted someone cute to make out with a little, is that so much to ask??

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Well, Paul Gross and fresh CCCookies would be an acceptable distraction, until one had to actually *drive* somewhere on the sleet. The melted and refrozen sleet.

Yeah, I'm really lucky that my office closes down when the weather gets dangerous. (And they don't dock my vacation pay.) The DS and CCcookie-fest is in my upstairs neighbor's apartment, so the worst I'll have to deal with are icy stairs. And possibly power outages, which would suck. But not as much as driving on ice.

ETA: Totally not too much to ask, meara. I hope someone cute, interesting, and unattached finds her way to your local soon.

Ok. I love these kids, and we've had tons of fun, but if their parents don't get in tonight (ETA: due to snow), we may all end up dead.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Is it still taboo to wear white to a funeral? How about ivory to a memorial service? (my nice sweater is ivory)

eta: nebbermind, my grandmother's black sweater still fits.

The parents' flight is delayed. I'd bet good money they're not coming home till tomorrow.

Is it ok if the six month old I'm watching keeps flipping onto his stomach in the crib?

I thought it was red you shouldn't wear to a funeral. Maybe it's just one of those local things.

Because books.

He's probably used to doing it in his sleep, sj. I wouldn't worry. Some babies are tummy sleepers whether you want them to be or not, once they can roll.

Thanks Amy. We picked him up because he is sick and teething and very unhappy.

vw, that sucks. I hope they are able to fly in soon.

The baby is not happy unless Dave walks him around the room, and I am such a meanie head to daring to wipe his drippy nose.
