"Anyone can try and sue you, Mom..."

Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Oh dear, Barb. "Less than you think?"
See also Christopher Reeve for doing summer stock and having a huge party where he invited the actors and production staff, but none of the crew.
Not nice.
Ack, Shir - I hope they reconsider you based on this year's grades. Lots of grade~ma and sensible-department~ma coming your way.
Congrats on the internship, Shir!
WHY did I offer to post something on Craig's List for my mother? WHY? I know better. I really do.
Oh dear, Vortex. Oh... dear.
Congrats, Shir!
Happy Birthday, bt!
"How much can you write about a person without getting into legal trouble?"
What Trudy said. And remember, if you get sued, even if you win, you're likely to be out attorney's fees and other costs of defending a lawsuit -- not least of those being time and hassle.
Hmm. Am I an idiot for getting annoyed at someone who criticises my campaign group's tactics and approach, while sitting on her behind and doing nothing about the situation herself? If you have a better approach, surely you should do something about it. You shouldn't complain that a group 'has no class' and that you don't feel represented by them. Especially when the issue is the death of disabled people as as result of the removal of/massive cuts to care services. To my mind, it's quite selfish to stamp your feet and say 'but that doesn't represent my situation - I'm fine - therefore your group should be representing me me me' when your fellow disabled people are actually dying.
Rant over. Thank you for listening.
I need food and we have none. Online takeout ordering, I think...
Oh, I know all of this. I just can't believe she was asking me. The exchange went something like this:
Mom: Okay. How much can you write about a person without getting in legal trouble?
Me: Nothing. Don't do it. It's called libel. Seriously, I don't care what it is or how true it is or how much you feel justified because the person in question is utter crap and deserves to be dragged through the mud, DON'T DO IT. Moreoever, don't ask me to do it, because I won't. You know why? Because I. Don't. Care.
