Here's a very Apocalyptic one for you, Hec.
'Potential'
Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Your pictures rock, Sean. Thank you for posting them.
We are a few miles from the fire. It's bad. I will take pictures in a bit if I can.
Here's a very Apocalyptic one for you, Hec.
Oh, Hollywood, with your special effects. You're just not happy unless you're blowing up the White House or setting LA on fire.
Actually, when I first moved to LA there were a lot of fires in Malibu that summer. I remember how horrible and fascinating it was to stand on the beach in Santa Monica at night and see Malibu glowing red in the darkness.
Here are some shots of Griffith Observatory through the haze: [link]
By comparison, here's a picture I took of the observatory two years ago, through the haze after the Griffith Park fire. That fire was considerably smaller than the Station fire, but also MUCH closer, and still.... [link]
I awake to be even more worried about my So Cal Peeps! Fire, BE GONE!!!!! Stay safe y'all. Breathe carefully. And when the fires are out, don't forget to change your car air filters.
The air currents and the angle of the sun have changed. So I can see the plume from my neighborhood again. Though I still can't see the mountain range any more.
quick containment ~ma for the fires. I can't see anything from my house except a lot of haze. Clean air ~ma for youse guys who are closer.
Photo dump from the last hour or so.
More apocalyptic. I didn't take this one. I found it on Flickr, but it's taken from considerably further away from the fire than I am.
