Hmm. I'm more like thinking on my own. But I just asked for a drawer, and he was all "I didn't want to be pushy! Maybe you should have a dresser and some closet space."
So I think it's proceeding apace, and I will let it proceed organically, and stop fretting!
Zenkitty, it looks like there's a yellow rose with cinnamon edges called "Leonidas". It's gorgeous.
Congratulations on your new dresser and closet space, Erin!
Thank you! We're making chili... Weird early fall weather, but I love it
Well, cool, proceed organically!
Steve's here 3 to 4 nights a week. He has two drawers.
The nights that he's not here? I enjoy the hell out of them. He's a channel surfer, and will watch tv out of boredom - without ever settling on one program. Drives me up a wall, and I usually just go hang out anywhere but the room he's in. When he's not here, the tv is off except for dvd or baseball watching (with the very occasional Keith/Rachel/Colbert/Stewart).
I am in no rush to live with another human.
ETA: Contrary to how the above sounded, I do like cooking together and sharing meals, and hanging out together in general. It's just when the tv is turned on (sometimes as soon as he walks in!) that I sigh. Loudly.
Hee! I shall! He told me "You can make whatever changes you want."
I feel more secure and serene now.
Thanks for the input, y'all. I know I can always depend on your feedback.
And I agree - I'm loving the headspace I'm in. I truly never thought I would be here. I
I feel kinda like a cheeseball self-help chick flick - "When I gave up, it all happened for me!! OMFG!!"
Ick.
feel kinda like a cheeseball self-help chick flick
Hee! I love this beyond all reason. Yay, Erin!
Java, the first three months, it was a real adjustment. I've lived by myself for 16 years, and I'm hugely used to solitude. But now we're past needing to be "on" for each other and he does his tv, computer, music thing and I do mine.
I'm still adjusting to some stuff, though. But I'm doing it more easily and quickly than I thought I would, frankly.
I've been with Steve for 2.5 years. We are definitely past the stage of needing to be "on".
I still want the television off. Or at the very least, I want it to stay on one channel for more than 3 minutes.
