I'm just sayin' - it's more conservative in Seattle than it used to be. The general consensus amongst my peers is - visible tattoos? Better work in a tattoo parlor.
Huh. Well that's annoying. I mean, my tattoos barely show, but it's not like I look exactly *normal*, nor will I ever, really.
There was a gorgeous tattoo on the girl in front of me at the show last night. She designed it herself, a pastel dragon about to take flight on her left shoulder blade. It was more entertaining than the opening band.

And, once again, I have nothing to say except for what I said yesterday: Shir "Spike's Bitches 44: It's about the rules having changed." Aug 25, 2009 12:39:04 pm PDT
I must be one of the very few people of my generation (Gen X) who does not have any tattoos. DW doesn't have any either.
I am tattoo free as is my wife.
My tats aren't in highly visible places, but I don't deliberately cover them up at work (beyond, you know, wearing pants).
Gen-Xer here with no tattoo, either! Although every once in a while, I think I'd love to get one.
The first time I ever saw a woman with a tat was in the mid-80s. I was waiting at the Milwaukee train station to board a train home for a holiday break, and a very professionally-dressed woman was standing next to me, wearing a snazzy business skirt and holding her suit jacket. But, only visible from the side angle I was at, just inside the neckline of her v-neck shirt, I could see part of a rose tattoo on the right side of her sternum. That caught my interest, since I never imagined a businesswoman would have a tattoo!
All I have is a tongue ring but I'm pretty sure I'm getting the Chicago flag on my left bicep done at Jade Dragon next time I'm in town. I haven't decided if I want yellow fringe or not.
Needles? On purpose? No, thank you. I don't even have pierced ears.
